Quick Corel Painter question

Hello illustrators,

I've searched Painter 12 boards, but can't seem to find an answer.

Is there a way to copy a layer drawing as a new kind of "medium?" Like, if I've drawn a form using pastel, is it possible to recreate it in pencil without tracing it all over again?

Thanks much!

I know this thread is a bit old, but I think I can provide the answer to your question.

You can try using the clone tools to see if you can achieve the results you like. That is probably the closest you can get to converting one medium to another.

Thanks so much, ED! Clone Tool seems to be one of those functions I've never learned (same as in Photoshop). I'll give it a try ASAP!
