Is this review site legit? What are other good ones to market a PB?

Discussion started on

I'm trying to make my PB more visible/discoverable. I found several sites that do book reviews, some for a hefty fee, others for little or no money. Most looked amateurish. One that appears legit is Does anyone have experience using it? Are they for real? Do they actually help with sales and discoverability?

Also: they ask for a PDF of the contents. I fear this could get in the wrong hands and leak. If you have experience with them, do you know how they handle our digital content. I would only provide a low resolution version but still, I don't want my content uploaded everywhere.

They also have a contest. Any opinions/experiences with their contests for PBs?

What are other places you recommend I submit my book to?

Hi eduardo,
"Writer Beware" blog has some very good articles on what to look for in a Contest and what to LOOK OUT for:
For Contests and Book review research, to the right of the main WB blog there's a search space. Just type in "reviews", "contests" or any specific name of either.
Specifically to your question about Readers Favourite, it's been discussed on WB a few times:
It's also helpful is to use the search feature here, top right box. Type in the name of a contest or a review site and most times it's been discussed before.

It is a challenge, but engaging with the writers' community on social media allows you to gradually build your knowledge on who blogs about (and reviews) the kind of books you write. As you build mutually supportive relationships with people over time, you can find out about people and sites who may potentially review your book, and you can ask if they'd like to receive a complimentary copy for review. This takes time and effort. It is my opinion that, within the kidlit community, glowing PAID reviews are not really respected, nor worth it.
