Hi! This is my first post since joining SCBWI. Can anyone help me find a guide for how to format CB manuscript submissions? I've read through the main guide, but that just seems to say how to start the manuscript? Specifically looking for what font size and if chapters can start on a new page? And of course, anything else helpful. Thank you!

For all books, the standard is Times New Roman, 12 Point, black

Chapters should start on a new page, but there is some inconsistency on where on the chapter title should be on the page. Some people put it at the top of the page, some a third of the way down. But I've never seem a rejection letter say "If it wasn't for your chapter title position, I would have published this" :)

SCBWI's The Book, in publications under resources on the website, gives this information. It is exactly what David says above. But you can download to have it handy.

Here's a fairly detailed article on manuscript format from my website:

You follow the same format regardless of whether it's a picture book, chapter book, or novel...
