An Amazon advanced search for the age group with the key word robot turns up a bunch. Worth your time to look through what's out there.

I have a 2.5-year-old daughter who loves robots. She inspired me to begin my manuscript. I'm writing about a gender-neutral robot who doesn't understand how they fit in with the animals they live near. Then they discover their true purpose and come to appreciate their individuality rather than be ashamed of it.

Books that I have already that involve robots:
* Boy + Bot (love this one)
* Robots, Robots Everywhere
* Rue and the Great Race

Any other robot books that you all know of and like? Also, anyone else writing about robots for young children? I'd love to connect and chat about this largely unexplored topic.

Nebraska / Critique circle?

I'm working on a YA historical fiction book and would love to get more feedback. I'd be interested in starting or joining a critique circle -- we could start with a couple of chapters and see if we're a good fit.

Hello Nebraska Writers and Illustrators,

If you receive a message that your post needs approval and you don't see it approved and posted, please email me to let me know! I'm the moderator for this board and have been trying to figure out the notification issues we've been having.  If you click on my name, there should be a link to email me or you can find my email in my profile.

I hope we can all use this wonderful resource to stay connected and share news.

Marica, click on your screen name in the upper right, and under Modify Profile click Look and Layout.

In the second line on the Profile page, click the dropdown menu under Current Smiley Set. Choose No Smileys, scroll to the bottom, and click Change Profile.

If you already have a reply box open, refresh that page.

That should do it!

How to Register For & Use the Blueboard / So many icons!
« Last post by marica-bernstein on June 15, 2021, 07:48 AM »
The answer is probably staring me in the face but I cannot figure out how to minimize (or remove entirely) the eight lines of icons that show between the formatting buttons and the box in which one types.

I'm here talking about what the screen looks like when writing a new post.  :warrior2

That's for your help!

I loved the book course I took with ICL: https://www.instituteforwriters.com/ I don't know if you still have to take the magazine course first. Check with them. I've taken both and also taught the magazine course for several years before retiring.

Highlights offers whole novel workshops: https://www.highlightsfoundation.org/programs/2985/the-whole-novel-workshop/
Free expressions also has workshops tailored around novels: https://www.free-expressions.com/

Some craft books that I turn to over and over:
Second Sight by Cheryl Klein
Stein on Writing by Sol Stein
Writing the Breakout Novel and Emotional Craft of Fiction by Don Maass
