Research / Re: Rhyming information fiction PBs with humor?

My book, FREAKY, FUNKY FISH is a rhyming, nonfiction PB with humor.  :-)

Does Heather Montgomery's BUGS DON'T HUG rhyme? I think it does. . . and I think is considered more informational fiction vs. nonfiction.

WATER IS WATER by Miranda Paul is a concept PB that rhymes, though it's not humorous.

I'll let you know if I think of others!

What kinds of things are recommended to go on a website, when there isn't any published work yet?

This is exactly what I came here to ask today, thank you so much for asking it. My book is with a publisher (no agent) they said that the contract would be with me before then end of the month, so I thought I would start organising myself

Good luck with your story Julie!
Thanks, Vijaya! Luckily, it's one I've sold and will be published in 2023. I'm filling in the questionnaire for the Marketing team and need to list a few comparable titles. I do have a few titles already, but thought I'd also pick the brains of our wonderful Blueboard community.

Not rhyming but our own Jody's Chip Off the Old Block. Also take a look at Lita Judge's books--you'd love her stories because she brings her love of the natural world to kids. Chock full of information. I think a couple of them are rhyming. Her characters are so fun and funny.

I've also read a few rhyming books that shall remain unnamed that have information because they're so clunky. If they intended any humor, it was lost on me. Good luck with your story Julie!

I'm wondering if anyone can point me to examples in this genre?
Thanks in advance.
(Information fiction = a story about a fictional character with a firm grounding in nonfiction/fact)

Have you been through the ALA Notable Books for the past few years? I assume you've checked out the Caldecott Medal and Honor Books?

I don't have any suggestions for you, Cherise, but if you'd like me to move this to the self publishing boards, I'm happy to do so!

My books story takes places in England - I would love to figure out how to get my book in stores in the UK and could use some advice - thanks for anyone who has had this experience - I am self publishing and need some advice!!!   :yourock
Hi, I am new. I understand one group is already full. I would like to join any subsequent groups? I have just completed my first manifest which is book 1 in a series. I have a few people reading through for me but mostly friends and family and would really like the input from fellow authors. I would also love to read through other manuscripts in the same field to help other authors and connect..
