Hi everyone! 😊 I just wanted to let everyone know about an event I'm hosting called #KidLitCritiqueDay. It's a day where picture book writers can find critique partners and maybe win a critique on a story. This is my second time hosting and I've really broadened the event this time. I have lots of stellar authors, illustrators, and others participating.

I've done this with each number below as a paragraph:

1. Why I chose this agent with mention of all three titles and word counts.
2. First pitch.
3. Second pitch.
4. Third pitch.
5. Bio paragraph.
6. Thank you for considering, etc.

For agents who want two PBs, you can send one query with both short manuscript blurbs inside it.

Hi folks! So I'm currently querying and noticed that some agents will ask for two PB manuscripts. I'm wondering how to do query letters for this - should it just be like two query letters combined into one? Should I pitch one and then another? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Christine,

Unfortunately, the Blueboard staff has nothing to do with the contest. I know winners were announced for some states in a prior Insight, but they don't seem to have updated. Considering how long the first set took, I suspect they aren't done yet, but you'd have to email headquarters to find out for sure.

Hi, I live in North Carolina and I never received a rejection notification. I assumed that since they needed more submissions for NC, that mine did not make it. I am reluctant to submit stories in future contests since I did not hear back. Also, I do not want to jeopardize my chance of winning (however slight) by submitting my story somewhere else. Please let me know if there is an update and/or a winner in North Carolina? Thank you
