Hello BlueBoarders,

I would welcome book suggestions, especially pbs for twins. Any recommendations?

I have a set of twin girls on my holiday shopping list and would like to get them a book about twins, they like to read. They are 6, so older pbs and perhaps chapter books would be a good match for them? I welcome your thoughts, thank you so much!

I like "Take Two: A Celebration of Twins" by Jane Yolen and J. Patrick Lewis. It's a PB collection of poems about twins, and includes fun facts on each page about twins, like the heaviest at birth, the oldest, difference between fraternal/identical, etc.

I bought it for my 12-year-old twin girls, and they enjoyed perusing it (even though they consider themselves past PB age), so I'm sure it would bring lasting reading pleasure to 6-year-olds.

Thank you for this thread! My DB and SIL are expecting their first children--twin girls--soon. These are great suggestions. One question: they're a mixed race family, and the twins are fraternal. Is the Yolen book pretty diverse in terms of illustrations?

There is a set of early chapter books called Ling and Ting: Not Exactly the Same! by Grace Lin that would be perfect for 6 year olds.

I have 9 yo twin girls. They LOVED Margaret O'Hair's Twin to Twin.  There's also the series by Julia Devillers Trading Faces; Times Squared and Take Two.
