I am researching how to format my picture book manuscript.  I've found a lot of useful information here, but I need advice on line spacing.  My story is written in rhyming couplets.  Also, each line of the story contains dialogue spoken by a different character.  Should I only put one sentence on each line (because the next line is spoken by a different character) and double space in between lines?  Would each line be indented?

I have not submitted couplets so I hope others wiser will post soon too. However, having submitted numerous PBs I can say that it helps to consult each publisher's submission guidelines. Most say double spacing with no indents. (Many editors these days read on their little hand held devices which tend to mess up formatting).

No, don't indent.

If it were my ms., I'd put maybe 1 1/2 lines of spacing between each line of the couplet, then a bigger space between couplets (2 or 3 lines).
