Jerry Spinelli writes great books for boys, but can't remember if they're primarily third or first person.

Okay For Now.
Liar and Spy.
You've probably read those, but they are the ones that popped into my mind as "great MG boy voice."

Some titles by Avi, Scott O'Dell and Elizabeth George. All historical. Great stuff.

I agree with Okay For Now, and would add The Wednesday Wars, also by Gary Schmidt.
Another great one is Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko.

I loved Gary D. Schmidt's Okay for Now, too, but wasn't it first person?

I'm currently listening to Julia Alvarez's RETURN TO SENDER. It has a third person 12-year-old boy narration interspersed with first person Mexican girl's narration. The story involves undocumented workers who are imported to save a Vermont farm.

All of Kurtis Scaletta's book would fit the bill! (I think-- I should check, but I think they're all third person).
