In the past, I have always put together my own mailing list. It's been awhile though and I'm guessing quite a bit of it is out of date. Is it worth it to purchase a mailing list? I've never done that. I always wondered if you can trust the list you get. Any thoughts or advice?

Karen, I've personally never bothered with those pay for mail lists. You can create/update your own by consulting  "The BOOK",  free as part of your membership and cross checking their entries on the Publishers website and on line to make sure they are current. I don't find that AD's move around as much as Editors do but things can change. You can also get a good number of up to date  AD name's and info by searching and following them on Twitter.
