Writing in the second person

I've written a couple picture book manuscripts in the second person, as sort of a dialogue between the narrator and the kid reading the book. It's like the reader/kid being read to and the main character are solving problems/going on adventures together.  This wasn't totally deliberate. It was just how they landed on the page and I *think* it worked?

But....I'm curious if agents or editors have any strong feelings about writing in the second person?

Thanks so much for any insights!

There are a few classic books in this style. Think about The Monster at the End of This Book and The Book with No Pictures. If they are done well, kids and gatekeepers love them.

Thank you for your responses! I was thinking about The Book With No Pictures and Monster, but wondered if they might be outliers. This is reassuring. Thanks so much!

And Your Alien wasn't on my radar, but I'll check it out!

As an editor, I agree with Debbie. "If it's done well" is always the key point...
