PB's that are mostly 3rd-person narration

Discussion started on

Can you think of any picture books that are mostly third-person narration with little or no dialogue?

For example, WHEN GIANTS COME TO PLAY, by Andrea Beatty. That's the only example I can think of at the moment.

I read HENNY recently (by Elizabeth Rose Stanton) and I feel like I remember it had no (or very little) dialogue. But my brain is Swiss cheese sometimes, so don't hold me to that.  :grin3

Ooh, I've been meaning to read that! Thanks, Arty! My brain is a little cheesy, too. :)

Love You Forever (Robert Munsch) - pretty sure it's third person from the mother's POV - it kind of breaks a lot of the "PB RULES," but it's been wildly successful nonetheless.

I love the Bat Books! Brian Lies is magical adding that bit of realism, especially in the food articles of Bats at the Beach, without it looking grotesque. Amazing! I was just looking at the text for Bats and it's First-person-ish. Using, the word we, with no MC . . . and dialogue is minimal to none. Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee has one line of dialogue. I remember this because when my chillens were a bit younger, I loved reading dialogue to infuse personality. I had to read that book a lot. They loved it.

I love the BATS books, too! You know, you're right. I guess they're actually first person plural, now that I think about it.

Also, I think LOVE YOU FOREVER is in second person.

Anyway, I will check out the others mentioned. Thanks again!

How about BOOT AND SHOE by Marla Frazee?  Definitely third person, and I think there's no dialogue at all.
