Hi all!
I'm looking for examples of picture books in which a baby is the main character (with siblings either non-existent or in lesser roles) and in which the humor/message/story is more geared toward parents. One that comes to mind for me is THE BOSS BABY by Marla Frazee. Can you think of other relatively recent examples?
 :thankyou
Jean

That's the one I immediately thought of when I saw the subject line. Can't think of any others off the top of my head. Three was one about a big baby a while back, but that was a tall tale, so not sure it fits your bill. and I can't remember the title either, sorry.

NEW YORK, BABY by Ward Jenkins? The 'baby' is more of a toddler, though.

Jean, I did an advanced search on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Search-Books/b/ref=sv_b_0?ie=UTF8&node=241582011

And I typed in "baby" for the keyword. (And I chose ages 4-8, new condition, hardcover, and sorted by pub date.)

Let me ask this another way ... can you think of any recent PBs that are clearly more of a cautionary tale for new parents?

CHANCE by Dian Curtis Regan

Maybe this one? A baby runs away from home and travels the wilderness.
It has more in common with the 5-year-old running away from home theme like A Baby Sister for Frances, but instead is a first-person narrative by an infant. Fun read!

I thought of LAZY LITTLE LOAFERS and JULIUS, BABY OF THE WORLD. But those are told from the sibling point of view, so not sure how helpful they'll be.

Is it intended to be a read aloud for a young child? If so, check out board books in your local bookstore. There should be some baby characters.
