Hi all,

I've written and illustrated a PB for 0-4 year olds and was wondering if anyone has advice for author/illustrators submitting to publishers. I'm wondering how I should send my book. Should I send a book dummy to the editor? or to the art director?

What sort of experience have people had success with and how do combo author/illustrators get noticed?

Thanks!

There is a wealth of information on submitting to publishers and agents on these boards, if you do a little research and use the search function. Here's one to get you going, right here on the PB Board:

Thanks Marissa

It seems like there's a plethora of information for writers and for illustrators individually. I'm specifically looking for information from combo author/illustrators. What I want to hear about is from people who do both and what ways have worked best for them to get published.

The submission process isn't any different for an author/illustrator than it is for anyone else--do your research, follow individual publisher or agent guidelines. Do you mean that you're looking for specifics on the mechanics of submitting picture book dummies?
