Title: Little Icon Next to Subject of Post

I was not sure how to search for this answer, so please forgive me if it's already been answered.  What is the little icon next to the subject of posts?  Usually it looks like a little message, but sometimes it is a thumbs-up or a smiley face.

You can change it by using the drop-down menu on the page you post from (either the new topic or the reply page).
