Title: Highlights Submissions- After the contest?
Post by: psychwriter on March 08, 2008, 06:10 PM
I recently entered a story in the Highlights contest.  Should I wait until after the results are announced to make a regular submission?

You should be able to send Highlights a submission anytime, even though you don't know the contest results yet.

Good luck with your contest sub, and the one you're about to submit!

Remember to check out their current "wish list" to make sure that your submission matches what they are looking for. I have found that, even though I have only sold one thing to them, they appreciate it when you target a specific editor with your submission (esp with nonfiction and activities). With so many submissions to wade through, it makes their work so much easier. The staff is super helpful too. A great magazine to work with.

Best wishes for success with the contest sub, and your new sub.

Has anyone started a "waiting for the contest results" thread yet?  After all, it's only a month or so now..... :partytime
