He died this morning of cardiac arrest at age 52.
I used his Beat Sheets religiously. All of us screenwriters here in Austin used them during ScriptFrenzy to organize our work as we wrote our fast drafts.
He was brilliant and I will always credit him with helping me finish my own scripts.

Such sad news. My whole critique group will be sad, too--we use his beat sheets to test fiction plots, as well as for screenwriting.

His book Save the Cat is one of my favorite writing books. So sad!

I just discovered his book, Save the Cat, and had a few laughs. Learning lots.
What a great loss to his family.
