Title: Suspense/thrillers
Post by: hairaplenty on June 04, 2011, 11:17 AM
I picked up Borderline by Allan Stratton, which I've not read yet.  But I'm looking for contemporary YA thrillers/Suspense.  I know Hunger games is certainly suspense, but I'm wanting real world contemorary.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance oh, worthy readers.

Have you tried ALL UNQUIET THINGS by Anna Jarzab? Also 13 REASONS WHY by Jay Asher comes to mind.

And I haven't read this yet but I've heard so many great things for Gayle Forman's IF I STAY, which as I understand it would fall under the contemporary suspense/thriller category.

When I Was Joe by Keren David is one of the best thrillers I've read. It's about a boy who ends up in the witness protection program after reporting a murder, but the gang involved continues to search for him.

I wouldn't put IF I STAY in this category, but definitely ALL UNQUIET THINGS is a great recommendation.

My two top picks would be BLINK & CAUTION and THE UNINVITED, both by Tim Wynne-Jones.

Awesome.  The only one I've read is 13 reasons.   And I've not heard of the others, except for If I STay.  Thanks so much.  Has anyone read BorderLine?  He wrote the Prinz Honor book, Chandra's Secrets, which I've not read.
