Any good recommendations? I'm working on one myself, and I'd love to know what's out their right now that I might be missing!

THE GRAVEYARD BOOK is, of course, very popular. I found it intriguing and well-written.
And though this one is not new, I still distinctly remember reading GHOSTS BENEATH OUR FEET when I was in 6th grade. That book scared the daylights out of me (of course, it didn't help that I was reading late at night under my covers)!
Also, I haven't read it yet, but I recently picked up a copy of THE BOOKS OF ELSEWHERE: THE SHADOWS. It has a creative premise and might be worth checking out.
Best of luck!

Lily's Ghosts by Laura Ruby <--love, love, love that book!
Breathe by Cliff McNish - scary but good!
Am looking forward to reading other people's recommendations too. I love ghost stories!

I blogged about ghost stories a while back and compiled a list of MG and YA stories here:

And a review of two of my favorites here:

Richard Peck's books are some of my favorites.

THE HEADLESS CUPID by Zilpha Keatley Snyder
WAIT TILL HELEN COMES by Mary Downing Hahn (she's written some other MG ghost stories, too)
A DROWNED MAIDEN'S HAIR by Laura Amy Schiltz

This is not a new book by any means, but I always had a special place in my heart for Jane-Emily by Patricia Clapp.
-
Thank you everyone!
This will keep me busy for a while :alce:

A wonderful, wonderful new one is Circle of Secrets, by Kimberly Griffiths Little. Also new and awesome is Liesl and Po by Lauren Oliver.
-
I also like Jane-Emily a lot. A newer one I love is THE GIRL BEHIND THE GLASS by Jane Kelley.
-
And I SO DON'T DO MYSTERIES where the girl's mom becomes a ghost.

Another great new one is Spellbinder by Helen Stringer.
