Title: Interviews/Profiles
Post by: Jennifer Rush on July 28, 2005, 01:25 AM
Are children's magazines interested in interviews/profiles of someone who does a particularly interesting art or craft? I read the profile in Highlights of a man who makes really great boomerangs (have you seen it?) and I loved seeing his work. This is what I'd like to do, feature an artist, but I hate to do all that work if it wouldn't sell. Any help?

Thanks!
Jen

I think some magazines, like Highlights, do like that.

All of the Cobblestone mags, like Appleseeds and Odyssey do profiles.  You have to query them first.  I've seen profiles in New Moon, Hopscotch, Boys' Life, too.

Thanks for your responses! I think I'll try an interview (if I can land one) and send it in. Doesn't hurt to try!
