Can anyone give me examples of fiction PB's that have back matter? I tried to go the library to look some up, but I forgot they open late on Mondays and I had to turn around and come home :oops .
I would be much obliged and will be checking them out as soon as I can.

Still taking recommendations, though!

ON THE DAY YOU WERE BORN and MAMA (http://www.amazon.com/Mama-Story-Which-During-Tsunami/dp/0152054952) are the two I can think of without digging through our bookshelf... :) I'll add to the list if I think of more!

Try Bugs for Lunch, by Marge Facklam (additional info); There's no Place Like Space, by Tish Rabe but it's a Cat in the Hat book series (glossary and further reading); Dad, Jackie and Me (additional info), by Myron Uhlberg; Cora Cooks Pancit (glossary and recipe), by Dorina K. Lazo Gilmore; Arrowhawk (additional info), by Lola M. Schaefer; Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns by Hena Khan (glossary).
Just looked at your link--great list. I love Wabi Sabi! I think Graeme Base uses back matter in almost all his books too with the games he adds. I'm thinking in particular of The Jewel Fish of Karnak. My kids loved that one.

Many of my fiction picture books have back matter. My book THE SEVEN SEAS, about a rabbit who goes to visit each of the (fictional) seven seas has information about the oceans in the back.

Blueboarder Alison Formento's other PBs, This Tree Counts and These Seas Count, also have terrific back matter.
