Title: Children's Magazines in stores
Post by: Sue G. on May 13, 2013, 03:10 PM
I was in our local Barnes & Noble this weekend and was disappointed to see they carry so few children's magazines. I was glad to find Highlights, National Geographic Kids, and Boys Life, but none of the bug mags, Fun for Kidz group mags or any others.  In Walmart, I found only Ranger Rick and Ranger Rick, Jr. buried behind Barbie and Avengers magazines.  Our Walmart has a very large magazine section, too.  Both stores had plenty of gaming mags and movie/cartoon-related mags for kids. I was surprised to find so few of the more literary children's magazines available. Does anyone have stores near them where they carry a more extensive collection of children's magazines?  Our local libraries carry many of them so I'm glad to be able to find them there!

Our local Barnes & Noble stores vary in the selection they have. One of them has what you described, while another has pretty much every kids' magazine under the sun. It's a larger store than the other, so that's probably why...
