Title: Revisions to a PB I already sent out!
Post by: bugaboo on August 18, 2013, 11:16 AM
I've been looking but cannot find a post about this...I sent out a few queries with full picture book on books I was SURE were completed...then last week I made a drastic revision on one of them.  Is there anything I can/should do?  It's much better

It's better to sit and wait and let some time pass, than flood someone's inbox with a correction, in my opinion. There will be other chances. This is a patience process on a great day.

But I'll be interested to read further replies.

Nope, nothing to do.  Just let the responses come, and in the future send the revised version.

Thank you.  That's what I thought, also.  Luckily I only subbed that one to the few agents who asked for more than one PB.  So I will just wait and see what happens.  How on earth do you know when a project is "done"!?  I was so sits, but one comment about clarity got my wheels turning and resulted in a huge revision.

You're never done until it goes to print.

Hi Bugaboo,

If it makes you feel better, everyone on this board has probably done the same thing at least once. I know I have.

It's so easy to send off a manuscript with a big glitch in it that you don't see. Luckily, most editors/agents are human and kind. If the rest of the manuscript is well-written and there's good attention to detail, they won't shoot you down over one error.

Good luck!
