Title: word usage question
Post by: Barbara Etlin on January 08, 2014, 07:32 PM
I'm Canadian.

I know that Americans have accepted the new usage of "anymore" as one word instead of two.

My question is for Canadians. Do you spell this as, "any more" or "anymore"?

(My Concise Oxford English dictionary is old and doesn't deal with this.)

It depends on the usage.

Do you want any more ice cream?
versus
I don't want to eat ice cream anymore.

My usage would be the second one.

So you spell it as one word? Okay, thanks!
