First time I've seen them request for their bug magazines, on their submission page. Have I just missed this before?
-
Hi Cindy, Where are you seeing this? I just went to cricketmedia.com and it looks the same to me (at least it looks like the same info as what I've seen in Submittable).
I did read that they are revamping their websites. There was a separate website for Spider which is no longer accessible - it redirects to Cricket Media. I think the same is true for some of the other bug mags.
-
Maybe she was looking at this...
https://cricketmag.submittable.com/submit
Which leads to this...

All very interesting!

Oh! That IS interesting! They must've updated their needs recently. I checked Submittable last week and don't remember seeing the call for submissions or even their frequent needs. Thank you for sharing this!
-
Thanks for sharing, Cindyb. Very cool!
-
Thanks for sharing. At a writer's group, one person gave us a prompt. We wrote for fifteen minutes, and now I think I have a story for the Flash Fiction submission at Cicada.
-
Thanks for posting!!
-
Thanks
-
Very interesting! :goldstar Thanks for sharing, Cindyb!! :running
-
This is interesting. Thanks for letting us know.
-
Anyone else having trouble getting into submittable today? I keep getting "Page Not Found". Ugh. Trying to sub to Spider.
-
I had that yesterday, Diana. I just went to a different web page of theirs with a different submittable link, and it worked. Try this: https://cricketmag.submittable.com/submit
-
Thanks, Jody! It just worked off the Cricket mag page.
I sent them an email so maybe the Spider link will get fixed.
Good luck with your sub!
-
You, too!
-
Ah, they just emailed me back that the issue has been fixed. Wow, that was fast!
-
What do you do when you forget to add you contact information to a manuscript. I just realized that I sent a story to CICADA, for the flash fiction, and didn't include anything but my name. How do I add my address and e-mail to this submission. It is in the IN-progress stage with CICADA - the story is THE CHOCOLATE BALL. What's the best thing to do in this situation?
-
Well, if you subbed through submittable, then the info will still be available in your Submittable Profile.
Also, there's an "edit" button next to each sub. Maybe you can still do a quick edit?
-
Thanks for responding to my concern DianaM.
-
Cricket media has a new "active call for submissions"!
-
Yay, Cindyb!
Here's the link: https://cricketmag.submittable.com/submit
-
Thank for this!
-
Thanks so much!!
-
Does anyone know if Cricket Media allow multiple submissions when they put out a call for submissions? Like, for the current call, is it okay to submit multiple poems (on different subjects)? I have looks at the guidelines and I don't see anything saying only one submission allowed per writer.
-
Submit as many good things as you've got, Stephanie. :) (as separate submissions) Good luck!
-
I don't know for sure, but my guess is that it's fine. I've sent them multiple subs for non-calls and it was never a problem.
-
Thank you, JodyJS and DianaM! I'm on it!
-
Two new requests up on the website for Cicada and Ladybug. Has anyone had any luck with past requests?
-
Thanks for the update, Cindy! You're thoughtful to keep us in the loop. :thankyou
-
Thanks, Cindy! I haven't responded to a call for submissions yet, but I did hear last week that Spider is still considering my fiction revision from early June (original sub early Feb.) for a specific 2016 issue. Between this and the call for submissions, I wonder if the Cricket magazines are moving more toward purchasing for specific issues rather than general acceptances as in the past?
