Title: Hunting/Hunters in Picture books
Post by: marla-lesage on December 10, 2017, 10:40 AM
Can you think of any picture books which depict hunters/hunting? Particularly stories told from the animal's point of view. Especially interested in more recent publications.
I'm curious about how the illustrator handles the topic.

What an intriguing question! I didn't know any off-hand, but found Deer Hunting with Daddy by Jeanna Johnston and Patricia Parks (2013) on Amazon. It seems to be from the hunters' POV.

Edited to add: The Happy Hunter by Roger Duvoisin is about a hunter who is also a vegetarian! Apparently, it was first published in 1961, but rereleased in 2016.

I've read a couple of hunting books from a little boy's POV. It was a while back and I don't remember the titles or authors.
