I haven't read a lot of this genre in the last two years, but here are two I enjoyed from 2016:

WING & CLAW: FOREST OF WONDERS by Linda Sue Park
THE GIRL IN THE TOWER by Lisa Schroeder

I'm not a huge fantasy fan, but here are a few of my favorite books from the past years (not necessarily published in the last two years) which have fantastical elements:

WISHTREE, Katherine Applegate
THE GIRL WHO DRANK THE MOON, Kelly Barnhill
WHEN THE SEA TURNED TO SILVER, Grace Lin
A SNICKER OF MAGIC, Natlie Lloyd
UPSIDE-DOWN MAGIC, Mynowski, Myracle and Jenkins
TRUE BLUE SCOUTS OF SUGARMAN SWAMP, Kathy Appelt

I love Kate DiCamillo's books, although they aren't that recent, among them The Magician's Elephant and The MIraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. She has a distintive voice.

I like Kate DiCamillo's books and enjoyed reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and Because of Winne Dixie with my child.
