Title: Roar Kids Magazine
Post by: katherine-wagner on July 01, 2019, 07:21 PM
The first issue of Roar Kids Magazine is live online at https://www.roarkidsmagazine.com

It seems they are offering the magazine two ways: free online or paid print subscriptions (or single issue). There's also a page about the founder and why he started it.

I looked through but haven't read it yet. I still have two submissions outstanding so hope I will be hearing from them soon.

Congratulations to everyone who appears in the first issue!

Kate

Thanks, Katherine!!

The founder's mission is heartwarming and I'm excited to see teachers can apply to receive print copies for their students!

Here's hoping for great launch and long, successful run for Roar Kids!!!

Thanks for sharing!

I've been learning  about the company and reading the digital issues of the magazine. It seems like a wonderful magazine, and I'd love to submit my illustrations to them. I have not been able to find an official submissions page though. For those of you who have submitted, were you able to track down their submission guidelines, or did you submit through their contact page?

Thanks for your help! :thankyou

Sabrina,

They sent out an email a little while ago saying they are working to get non-profit status to help find additional funding sources. They also said they're going to publish less frequently.

I get the impression that the people behind it are educators and didn't totally understand the business side of selling a magazine. It looks like they may be on a hiatus regarding submissions. You might want to get on their mailing list for news when they start buying again.

I hope they sort things out because I think they create a quality product.

Hope this helps,
Kate
