Just received an e-mail that Cicada the teen magazine at the cricket group will be no more.

This is sad. Slowly, all of the Cricket mags are disappearing. There were once twelve, as I recall.

This is so sad especially since Cicada encouraged work written by teens as well - an opportunity that I'm sure will be missed by young writers and artists and the teens who looked forward to reading each new issue.  Hoping the other Cricket mags continue for a long, long time.

 :sigh   Too much older teen content on the web I suppose.  I hate to see any literary mag close, esp in the kidlit world. Pity.

DianaM---this is off topic (sorry everyone if this is against the rules), but I just saw that you wrote Ned the Knitting Pirate. I picked that up not long ago at the library to read to my daughter. We --loved-- it!!  I am a big crocheter and learning to knit, so it was such a fun topic to read about in silly verse!
