Hey, folks, what is your favorite software for writing screenplays? Thanks for the suggestions.  Molly

I use Celtx. It's free and does everything you need it to do -- formats it, creates PDF, organizes characters, etc.

I use Final Draft. It's more expensive than many of the other options, but I work with many other writers and it seems to be the most common. Having the same software makes it easy for us to collaborate and swap versions of scripts. I have other friends who use and love Movie Magic.

You shouldn't have to mess with the margins in Final Draft... Let me know if you have any questions!

I have Hollywood Screenplay but am not that thrilled with it.  I should set aside a day and learn the ins and outs of it.

The industry standard is Final Draft.  I find it to be really easy and user-friendly, but I've been using it for several years.  All the screenwriters I know use it.  The one thing I have never gotten to work properly is the "Collabowriter" function.  You are supposed to be able to open a document and then real-time share it with a writer in a different location.  My writing partner and I spent HOURS on the phone with various tech people and never got it to work.  Bleh!
