SCBWI's Blueboard - A Message & Chat Board

What kind of traffic does my MC need on her blog to make it profitable?

Discussion started on

Hi all, my MC has a blog, and it's starting to grow to the point that businesses targetting her audience are advertising with her.  What kind of monthly traffic/followers would she need for a blog to start to be profitable/attract advertisers?  Also, if she was also posting a video blog on youtube, how/when do they start including ads on your channel? Thanks for any insight you might have!

A rough estimate would be 2,000 subscribers or unique hits per month. (About 250 unique hits a day.) 2,000 A DAY is even better. Anything less than that is a tough sell.

My DH gets about 1200 hits a day, and started getting ad requests at the beginning of this year.
