Another one - Dog Loves Drawing by Louise Yates (it is about a book) Love it!
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13155444-dog-loves-drawing?from_search=true&search_version=service
Apparently it's a follow-up to Dog Loves Books. (Winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize)

Diana,
Are you thinking of meta fiction? Some examples: WE ARE IN A BOOK (Willems), I THOUGHT THIS WAS A BEAR BOOK (Lazar), A PERFECTLY MESSED UP STORY (McDonnell), CHLOE AND THE LION (Barnett), SNAPPYSY THE ALLIGATOR (Falatko).

Thanks again for all the fab suggestions!!

Kwlarson, I wasn't actually thinking of meta fiction, but that's a great consideration.

Just this morning, I read two books about books to my little fellow.

- Wolf! by Becky Bloom and Pascal Biet. It's about a wolf who tries to attack a group of barnyard animals, only to find they are too busy reading to be bothered by him. In defiance (and to get their attention!) he learns to read.

- The Monster at the End of this Book by Jon Stone and Michael Smollins. That's the Sesame Street book about Grover being afraid of monsters.....and desperately trying to stop the reader from turning the pages. I remember this book from MY childhood!!
