Do you have any recommendations for creative writing programs/classes for teenaged writers? Either online or a summer program/camp that accepts kids from all over the US?

J-Bert, you might find something helpful here: http://vonnacarter.com/wordpress/workshops-young-writers/
I add events to this list as organizations release their information.

In my city, we have a group Writers & Books that offers programs for kids and teens either a day or week-long throughout the year and the summer. You could see if your neck of the woods has any kind of similar group?

I also wonder if the teen is serious about writing, could they just sign up for Writers Digest or Gotham classes online? As long as the instructors get paid, I don't think they ask how old the students are and they may never know if the students are serious and mature about it.

Thank you, Vonna! That list is great. And Dina, she's taking a Gotham writing class online this summer! I couldn't remember the name of the program until I read it in your post. She wanted to know about more things she could do like that.

If she enjoyed doing the Gotham class, she might want to look through this list of online courses:

That's fantastic she's already doing Gotham!

Vonna's list is great, too!

This is fabulous.  My grad school adviser started it years ago.

I actually teach one at Hollins University in Virginia. Girls from all over the US come to each year. Sadly, I think for this summer, there is already a waitlist. But here is the information. It's offered every year: https://www.hollins.edu/academics/hollinsummer/taking-joy-in-the-art-of-creative-writing/
