East of the Web

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the e-zine "East of the Web". I am a fairly new writer, still looking for that illusive first publication. They are listed in my market guide, so I figured they were okay. They seem very accepting of new writers, but stress they only accept high quality writing. It seems like an interesting site. They mention that other editors/publishers often check out the site and a writer's story could get accepted by another mag, by appearing on the site. (That would be cool, although probably unlikely) All of this seems good, but there is 1 bad thing, they don't pay anything. At this point however, that wouldn't bother me.

I know that with other e-zines (i.e. Wee ones and GP4K) acceptance is considered a publishing credit. Would it be the same with "East of the Web"?

Thanks for your time. Any input would be wonderful.

In case anyone is interested: I received some info on another message board that East of the Web may be closing down permanently.  Just FYI.
