Hello all!
My name is Jennifer, I live in Pennsylvania with my wonderful husband and two beautiful children.
I am new to the writing world and anxious to jump in with both feet and fully clothed! I am thankful to have found this great site by way of Yellapalooza and hope to be able to build new friendships as I travel along the information highway. :typing:

Morning and hello to everyone. Actually, I've been lurking around here for some time now but I finally took the courage to jump in. I've been writing seriously for the last two years. I have completed a three YA novels. They all have a fantasy element to them. After many revisions I've decided to submit one of them to the Delacorte contest. I want to to another round of revisions. I always find something to change or smooth out.

Thank you Verla Kay for setting such an informative site!

Hello,
I'm not really new to this board, or to #kidlit, but I don't get to participate as much as I'd like.  So here's hoping this entry marks a new change for me.  I've begun my juvenile novel in earnest and although I'm quite busy with my illustration work, I'm confident I've embarked on a worthwhile journey I'll live to see the end of. :)

Hello, Jayme.  Nice to meet you again!  Hopefully I'll be able to dig into some of the topics here.

Hey, is there a way to shut off all those smilies?  I don't think I'll ever use them. ;)  I usually just use the old tried and true ones.

I found the site a little while ago, but have never officially presented myself. My name is Gisele and that's pronounced with a 'J' sound! Yes, I get that a lot! LOL!

I've been writing seriously for a couple of years now and am also an illustrator. I was commissionned to illustrate a story which appeared in Wee Ones this past August, (Sherman the Shark) and will have my first poem published in Wee Ones' May/June 2005 issue, as well as a color by number illustration! Thank you Wee Ones!

I'm pretty busy with NaNoWriMo and hopefully will have completed my first novel when it's over. I write poetry and short stories as well as non-fiction articles for children. I also run a small website www.dragonflyspirit.com and moderate the Young Writers' Scene at the Forward Motion site. I just basically help to motivate young writers with challenges, cheers and encouragement. The kids are great to work with and we have a very talented bunch!

I've been posting a little here and there but just wanted to give the official hi! Hey Deb and Maripat! The gangs almost all here!!!

I love Verla's site! There's so much great information!

I am brand new to writing.

I am an elementary school (5th grade) teacher in Western North Carolina.  I have a MA in Medieval Studies in addition to a MA in Education and decided to combine my two passions.

I'm working on a YA book of a young boy orphaned during the Crusades.

Welcome Savate.

I'm a fifth and sixth grade teacher in Minnesota.  Tell me when you write.  This is a new job for me and it just consumes me.

Your book sounds interesting.

I'm just learning to find the time now...and the time is about to get even harder to come by since my wife and I are expecting TWINS (Boys!) any day now!   :spaz

Hi,

My name is Ty and I live just outside of Seattle, Washington.  I was a television writer for about fifteen years until I decided I would rather spend the 60 hours a week I was trapped in a writers staff room with my two sons, so I moved us all away from LA.  I have just recently turned serious about writing for children (after years of doing it for personal consumption only) and have joined SCBWI (I may be the reason Verla Kay took Eastern Washington and broke away from Western Washington) in the hopes of learning the ropes.

After lurking and greatly benefiting from this board for a couple of months, I finally decided to take the plunge.  I am most interested in the MG and YA novel areas, since that is where my kids are now.  You will soon come to know me as the newbie guy with all the stupid questions.

You have been warned.

Welcome, NuGy!  Sounds like you may have a thing or two to teach us, with your background.  I don't know about these other blue board slugs, but I'd love to hear about the ins and outs television writing sometime.

Savate:  Welcome

NuGy: I'm with Jaina, and would love to hear about tv writing.  Don't think I want to do it, but still, hearing about other writing areas would be cool.

I've seen this board before - but this is the first time I've registered and posted.  I see some people I know here!

Anyhow.... I'm here to see what I can learn and to have one more place to talk about my favorite subject - writing.

I've written a few children's stories, middle grade novels, and one YA novel.  I'm still working on revisions before sending these out.  Most of what I've had published was in newspapers but I've also had one children's story published in a magazine.

Hi!  I'm Stephanie ("Ahri" is fine), and I'm a writer (and student) situated in Mebourne, Australia.  Most of my work so far has been either commissioned essays or aimed at primarily an adult audience, but I'm currently working on an MG (which is telling me it wants to turn into a YA), as well as a collection of related short stories aimed at an MG audience.

I'm currently waiting on a rejection from Cricket (it's been oh-so-long!), which has been my first submission to a publication for young readers, but have received some really positive feedback from the various magazines and so forth to whom I've submitted--so I have my fingers crossed.

I'm a long-time member/poster on MyWriterBuddy, but fell in love with the more specialised boards here (I've been lurking about for a while!  :study).  I thought it was time to finally join in! :)

Thanks for having me!

:hug1: Hi everyone! I just discovered this site!

My name is Lisa. I've been seriously writing and submitting for a year and a half. I've written 4 fiction picture books. I am working on a nonfiction picture book right now. My day job is teaching. I am married with two beautiful children ages 7 and 11. I am attending grad school (6 hours this semester) with the hopes of finishing in May 06'. I have a busy life but everything I do seems to relate to or support the other things. I attended my first conference in Nov. (SCBWI-Houston). It was awesome! Thanks to Verla Kay for this wonderful support site. (P.S. I love your books).   :typing:
