Hey everyone!

I am new to this board - obviously.  I like to write middle-grade stuff.  I have a manuscript being considered by Harcourt at the moment and I am also beginning that wonderful search for an agent.  I have three queries out, but no responses yet.  I live in a fairly isolated part of the country and do not have many options for finding a critique group, so I live for these discussion boards.  It sometimes feels like my only link to the outside world.

Welcome! Do you belong to any writers groups like the SCBWI? They might help you hook up to an online crit group.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I live in the west end of Nebraska, surrounded by prairie and not much else, so I do look to writer's websites for most of my support.  I am a member of SCBWI, but I haven't yet taken the plunge of joining an online critique group.  It probably took me five years to write (and finish) my first novel and now I am embarking on the equally long journey of trying to get it published.  I look forward to reading about everyone else's experiences in the days to come.  What a wonderful place for writer's to come together.  I'm only sorry I didn't discover this site earlier.

Hi Everyone!

I'm Liesl and new to this site. I've been working on my writing for a couple years now (inbetween my wife and mother duties,) and have three stories ready to be published in a few magazines. My first will be published this December in Guideposts Sweet 16. Can't wait to see my story in print!

I am also working on a Children's PB and a YA novel so I like to dabble in everything and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. I've already learned lots just by viewing the threads.

Hi, Liesl!  Welcome aboard!  Congrats on your magazine credits   I have a variety of irons in the fire, too, but I think I've found my niche in YA fiction.  This is a great group of people.  Feel free to ask lots of questions  ;D

Hello everyone, I guess this is where you post to introduce yourself!  I'm Merbear, a student and wannabe writer.  I have been working on several YA novels, with a  manuscript under review at Blooming Tree Press (fingers crossed!).  This seems like a fun site, and I've enjoyed looking at all the threads--learned a lot too!  Looking forward to meeting people!

Welcome,  Merbear!   Good luck with your ms.   I just had a first-chapter critique by Miriam Hees at Blooming Tree.   She was really nice.

I've learned a lot here too.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here too. I've been writing and subbing seriously for about 2 yrs. now. I've managed to rack up quite a few magazine credits, so I've been trying to concentrate on my PB and an early chapter book. It's been an unsettling year though, with a big household move. So that's eaten up quite a bit of my time. Glad to be here.

Anne, I may be in the woods of Connecticut instead of the prairie, but I know what you mean! There was a local writer's group that met at the library and I tried it out but no one really did much in the way of revisions. Plus, with a 2 page limit, it would have taken a million years to get through a novel...

Hi all!

I'm new here, too, but I think I may know many of you from LiveJournal.  (And I admit I've lurked here before. Who hasn't?)

Anyway, it's great to finally be here!

Hi!

No crumble yet, but I attempted baked apples.

One exploded!

...but it still tasted good.

Hello everyone!
I am new to this site and am loving all the information here.
I just graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and moved to Los Angeles. I'm currently working on a few picture books and a YA novel.
I'm in the market for a critique group, and I'm open to online or face-to-face groups. I've been meaning to join SCBWI to help me network, but I keep putting it off. The initial $75 membership fee is a big factor in my forgetfulness, I must admit! But soon, I'll do it, maybe as an early Christmas present to myself.
Anyway, as a recent grad, I'm new to publishing. Writing is something I really got interested in during my junior year, and I've been working at it since, but that's still not a long time at all. I'm definitely eager to learn! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
