I need a little help. I have only been able to find ONE version of this particular story. It's called "No Room" and is about a stingy old man who lives with his wife. They end up inviting their daughter (and son in law and grandchild) to live with them at the command of the local wise man. Things go downhill from there for the old man. In the end, he learns a valuable lesson.

I am rewriting it so the MC develops some character and changes of his own accord by the end of the story. The way he comes about a change of heart is a bit different than the way it is presented in the version I've read. Does anyone know this story? Maybe by a different name?

I know this is a long shot, but I figured I'd try!

TIA,

Blessings,
Donna

Yes, I know that story well!

We have one version called TOO MUCH NOISE by Ann McGovern and Simms Taback. We have another version on an audio CD by Jim Weiss, called THINGS COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE.

It's a  great tale. Good luck.

You are welcome. It sounds like a nice fit for Highlights, too. :)
