Multiple submissions to Family Fun?

Does anyone know if Family Fun accepts multiple submissions? (And by this I don't mean that I want to send a bunch out at once. They are holding one of my projects for consideration and I'm dying to send them another one.) I have this rule for myself that when I've finished a project I MUST send it off to a market.   :butbutbut But I've got something out at all of my possible markets right now.

In the past I've submitted multiple crafts to the same market with good results. But it wasn't Family Fun and I don't know if they look upon multiple submissions favorably or not? Anyone out there know?

Multiple submissions to a particular publisher is, generally, a bad idea business wise. You end up competing with yourself for that "one spot" that a publisher has on their list. They don't make room for crafts they like and *then* fit in advertising, they actually put in the advertising FIRST and then fill in with crafts that fit their space requirements (many publications, not necessarily Family Fun - but if you've looked at the magazine, it is pretty heavy on advertising).

If it's been a while since you subbed your first craft with FF, I would encourage you to status query on your craft - but hold on to your new one a wee bit longer.

Or go through your market guides and see if maybe you've missed a market that might work well for your craft that you had overlooked for some reason or another. I know that I did that a while back and then, when I was looking through the market guides again, I realized  that (with a tiny tweak) I could market my crafts for a church/scouting organization magazine rather than just the usual (more visible) markets.  I haven't had any luck selling those crafts (yet), but I did find new markets for my work.

Good luck,

Thanks for the input, MaudeStephany.

I recently sent in a craft to Family Fun (for Everyday Fun pages) and then, about a month later, sent two more.  I was just going off my experience with Highlights, where I tend to send in a new batch of activities for consideration every month or so.  But with them, I have a sales record and relationship.  Guess I should have waited to see with Family Fun!

Oh well....
