ANTSY DOES TIME  BY NEAL SHÜSTERMAN

What do you give to a dying friend?  More attention? A cruise? A roll of lifesavers?

How about time from your own life?  That’s what Anthony (Antsy) Bonano does for his ill classmate, Gunnar Umlaut.  In doing so, Antsy starts a hot business of contracts for borrowed time, and wins the heart of Gunnar’s gorgeous older sister, Kjersten, in the process.

But dying doesn’t always come from the obvious.  Antsy soon finds cracks in Gunnar’s story and wider cracks in the foundation of Gunnar and Kjersten’s family life.

Antsy Does Time tackled multiple modern problems without stacking them on my shoulders.  Through the use of thought provoking humor, this story challenged me to look beyond the obvious.  So the question remains.  What do you give to a dying friend?  According to Antsy Bonano, whatever he needs.
