Why the stars?

I see there is a star by my newbie name. What constitutes getting a star? Does someone give you the star? Do you earn it after time on the boards? I see someone has blue stars. What does that mean? Hmm. I'm puzzled. If anyone can shed the light, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Amy G. :smile

Though Verla may be able to elaborate more, she did post a little about the stars on another thread.

Found it!  Here it is:  http://www.verlakay.com/boards/index.php?topic=35574.0

It's really no big deal; it's just part of the way the software for this message board is set up.
