first, get rid of the cell phones

Screenwriting Rule Number One:  :hiding

When writing horror, adventure, suspense, or any other thing else that requires panic, misunderstanding, or a general plot development where your characters need to be chased by a crazed killer (preferrably in the woods) you must first establish that heck no, their cell phone is not going to save their skinny butts. Otherwise, you know, no story.

Actually, their cell phone should kill them. Like, they're hiding, and the killer is moving away from them, and then it rings. But that video was funny....

They forgot where Jack Bauer would be w/o his cell. We developed a riff on '24' set around 1900 one night at supper, with the president-in-peril being TR and the phones being really, really basic land lines. It was pretty funny, if I do say so myself. A pity we didn't have the time/energy to do it up for YouTube.
