Rhyming Dust Bunnies is pretty darn funny.  I haven't read it to kids, but I think they'd love it, especially!

I agree with "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus," and pretty much all of Robert Munsch"s books. What can I say. My boys loved his stories. They couldn't get enough of them. Oh another series by Allen Morgan the titles would say, Matthew and the Midnight Turkeys, Tow Truck, Money Van and I've seen some new additions lately that he has added many more books to his series. I guess its still very popular. I read the first couple of stories to my boys in the early nineties.

I Love "Big Plans" by Bob Shea and Lane Smith. The energy and silliness and great feeling I get from that book - makes me laugh and want to take on the world!

Another vote for NO, DAVID by David Shannon. And I showed it to my son when he was 18 and he literally rolled on the floor.

My favorite funniest picture books are: 1. The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, by Jon Szcieska (sp?)  2. Diary of a Worm, by Doreen Cronin  3. Knuffle Bunny, by Mo Willems. I also love so many others, especially Kevin Henkes's books.

I know these were already mentioned (at least, I think they were), but my kids and I cracked up last night over PIGEON WANTS A PUPPY (which I thought funnier than the bus) and KNUFFLE BUNNY.  Hilarious.

They are technically easy readers, but right now, nothing is funnier to me than the Elephant and Piggy books by Mo Willems.  The adults and children in my family laugh hard.

Thanks, fallpeople :)  Never thought I'd see my book on a list with something by Amy Krouse Rosenthal- you made my day!

I could never narrow my funny favorites down to only 3, but some recent favorites are the Monkey With A Toolbelt books by Chris Monroe, Scaredy Squirrel by Melanie Watt and Are You A Horse? by Andy Rash.

Okay, I've managed to read just about every title mentioned on this thread, and I find I'm sticking with my original three:
The Shrinking of Treehorn by Florence Parry Heide, Spinky Sulks by William Steig, and Horton Hatches the Egg by Dr. Seuss.
I guess my taste in picture books is just old-fashioned...

I'm not necessarily super well-versed in picture books, but the one I buy over and over for birthdays is The Best Pet of All by David LaRochelle. Hilarious and clever and I love the illustrations.

Jackalope...my assistant has learned not to shelve books when I read it because it is unnerving to children to hear an adult cackling, giggling, and possibly rolling on the floor laughing.  The Wolf Who Cried Boy is another big hit that makes me laugh, even as I read it to the eighth second grade class that year.

Click, Clack, Moo and Duck for President are also winners!
