Hi Elizabeth,

Your status has been upped to "Poster" so you should be able to send PM's now.

It doesn't automatically happen at 50 posts--here's more info on that: http://www.verlakay.com/boards/index.php?topic=25046.0

Happy PM-ing! :)

When a poster has been registered for at least a month and has over 50 posts, s/he is eligible for member status. This takes time, however, as the admins must go back and review all of the person's posts before making a decision.  The decision is not taken lightly, since having member status means that you have access to the private Members Only section, and can view other people's profiles. Verla wants us to look for those who "have posted responsibly and have taken care to be sensitive to other's feelings on this board." As such, we look for posters who have offered advice to others, asked questions, and have contributed constructively to discussions.

This can take time, of course--we don't expect you to do all of this right away! But once you have, we feel as if we "know" you well enough to grant access to the private sections of the boards. When a person's posts are mostly congratulations or self-promotion (not that either of those things are bad), we'd prefer to wait until we see more substantive posts from that person.

Our main goal with this process is to protect the privacy of our members. Once you do become a member, I hope you'll feel safe in posting in the Members Only section of the boards.

Thanks,
Natalie
