Okay. I couldn't stand it any longer. I need motivation and a kick in the rear to MAKE me work on my WIP -- EVERY SINGLE DAY. Too many days drift by and at the end, I realize that no matter how good my intentions were to write on my Work In Progress, nothing was accomplished. Zip. Nada. Zilch.  :paperbag

I'm starting this thread for people like me who just need to write a little every day. (Who am I kidding? I'm starting this thread JUST for me. :lol2)
There's another thread on the board for more ambitious people working on longer books who want to write a thousand words a day or more. Not possible when you write mostly in rhymes! When you write like I do, that would be 4 or 5 books a day! So for people who write slower, like me, here's our :star2 sparkly :star2 new motivational thread!

And if you join this thread and you DON'T work on your WIP every day, you will get  :mob :voodoo :guns and possibly even  :! or :flamethrower!

I worked on brainstorming and outlining for my next WIP today. I'm not ready to jump back in the 1,000 word club again yet, but it feels good getting started on something else while revising my last ms and letting it cool.

Thanks for the new thread, Verla!

Thanks for this thread, Verla.  No actual typing today, but, like Jayca, I worked on brainstorming, fleshing out the story.  Notecards for characters and scenes.

Yes! This is a perfect thread for those of use not quite in the position to write 1000 words a day at the moment (for whatever reason).

Today, I will work on my WIP. Yup. Today, I'll do it! (As soon as I finish catching up on the Blueboards . . . ;-) )

I did it! I worked on my WWII POW story today on my new computer which I have finally gotten almost all up and running.  :oncomputer Unfortunately, this new computer doesn't have the same font I've been using on the book and I don't know how to find that old font and move it to the new computer, so I had to go back and change the entire book to a different font, which means all the pagination that I've worked so hard on is now all wrong. :gaah

But I still managed to get the tunnel escape account into the book today. That's progress! :yay

Yay, motivation! I'm in! I already had set myself a goal of writing 1K a day this month (or until I finish this draft). I did 1400 yesterday and I am about to start on today's chunk.

Good going, everyone who is working on a daily WIP regime!

And thank you Verla for starting the thread!

I NEVER write 1000 words.  What does that say?

Today, I will work on my WIP. Yup. Today, I'll do it! (As soon as I finish catching up on the Blueboards . . . ;-) )
But will you? Cos I say that every day...

Thank you, Verla!  :bow I really need a thread like this one. I wrote yesterday, a whopping 80 words, but at least it was something after 3 weeks of nothing. I'm totally in!

600+ words, plus a major component of the plot fell into place, something that will be in the query letter!

eta: 750+ words, actually. I just double-checked my work log. Have to make sure things here and on the Day by Day thread match http://www.verlakay.com/boards/index.php?topic=24122.new#new, or somebody will think I'm not trustworthy. (And we all know I am so important that I have stalkers checking my every post. Excuse me, I must go find my aluminum foil helmet now.)

Did 1200 words this morning, although a couple hundred of those were scavenged and reworked from an earlier cut scene.

Good luck everyone!

Does brainstormng count?  'Cos if it does, then I write quite a bit every day, just not yet.  I need :coffee first.

I worked on my WIP today.  :goldstar The word count definitely wasn't something to write home about, but that's okay.

This is a great thread for those days of revising when I'm more likely to cut a 1000 words than write them! I have just eliminated 217 words from the first chapter of what I hope will be the last pre-query draft of my WIP.

Jumping in here!  Took a yellow legal pad and pen out to the backyard today to scribble while the kids played...managed to get a few sentences down before they noticed me, and usurped my tools for their own drawings.  Alas.  But it was a start!

I really need this thread. For the last few days I did not work on my WIP. Today I did! I'm actually able to say I finished a chapter and added a few scenes in others. Knowing I have to report tomorrow, I WILL write more tomorrow! :crossedfingers
