New!
I was wondering what I need to do to be able to send a personal message?  Though I don't post much, I've been a member on the board for a long time--any suggestions on what I need to do?

Thanks

Kiteflyer--you need to have at least 50 quality posts to send personal messages.  This is a safeguard against spammers, and has been working great for our board.  Right now, you have 37, so you're getting close.

Though it makes sense to keep people from initiating personal messages until they've been around for a while, I can't reply to messages other people have sent me. That's frustrating because I've received several personal messages -- compliments, questions, or letting me know my book has been reviewed somewhere -- and I can't say thank you or otherwise answer unless I can track down the person off of the message boards. Is there a way to allow people to reply to personal messages, without allowing them to initiate?

You can ask a Moderator to contact the person who PMed you and pass on your e-mail address to that person, but no, the forum software does not have a way to allow people to respond to PMs unless they have member privileges.

Example:  If you do not yet have Private Message privileges and want/need to send a message to someone, click on the "Report to Moderator" link at the bottom of any post and let the Moderators know what you need. They will be more than happy to assist you.
