Has anybody actually seen this children's book by "Ralph Lauren Childrenswear"? I've just seen an advertisement for it, with photos of what looks like 6-year-old models in Ralph Lauren clothing. It's advertised as "The First-Ever Online Shoppable Storybook Series for Children" and is available both in hardcover from B&N and as a Nook book. I have to say, such blatant, cynical marketing to kids makes me nauseous. But then again, I haven't seen the book.

Hmm.  No, I haven't seen it.  But I have a sudden need to use a vomiting smiley.  Alas, there is none.   :faint

Thanks for the link, Julia. The book I saw advertised must be the second in the series, because it's narrated by somebody else. I'm sorry that the Marsalis foundation and Harry Connick, Jr have agreed to be a part of this.

Jenna's right: there needs to be a vomiting smiley. A vomity?

I watched one of the YouTube videos a while back with a sort of disgusted fascination.  http://youtu.be/behG60n1oA0

Gah.  There used to be an outhouse smiley here, but I can't find it.  So, until I do, here's me taking on RL staffers:  :!

Haven't seen it, but I did see one for Brooks Brothers. Read it in the store while DH was looking at clothes. It was horrible! Then again, if you're going to buy a kids book about your favorite upscale clothing maker ... :P
