What's out there for funny zombie books for MG or YA? I was watching So Random on Disney, and they have a series of skits about a zombie in high school.

You Are So Undead to Me, and Undead Much by Stacey Jay are fun reads. Megan Berry is a cheer-leading zombie settler.

K.A. Holt's BRAINS FOR LUNCH is a humorous MG zombie novel in haiku. I wouldn't describe ROT AND RUIN as humorous, but it's faaaaabulous. SO good.

HOLD ME CLOSER, NECROMANCER is quite a hilarious YA.
GENERATION DEAD, where the zombies are actually "living impaired" had some humor as well.

I love that one, but did it have zombies? I don't recall. I know he raised the dead, but not quite zombies unless I forgot.

FYI (shameless self-promo, but hopefully also relevant here), in about 3 weeks, I'll be releasing a funny/suspenseful zombie short story from my upcoming YA collection, Shorting the Undead, a Menagerie of Macabre Mini-Fiction. It'll be called Don't Go in the Water, and it's about a pair of teen lifeguards at a community pool that allows zombies (shudder).

I also just released (yes, more shameless self-promotion  :groan ) a 99-cent zombie short from the collection, but it's horror. For anyone interested in horror zombiefic, try The Headhunter. It just went up last night. Sorry, I don't have it up anywhere else besides Amazon yet, but soon...real soon.

Thanks. I'll go crawl back to my crypt now.

Sam, I guess I considered the raised dead zombies? But you're right, they don't really call them that.

Zombies Vs Unicorns is a fun read, but you have to sit through several unicorn stories. Not that I'm taking sides!

There's also the humorous MG series by David Lubar. The first book is called MY ROTTEN LIFE (NATHAN ABERCROMBIE, ACCIDENTAL ZOMBIE).

Not actually a zombie book, but the 4th and 5th Skulduggery Pleasant books have zombies in them, and the zombies are hilarious. Like the head zombie going to a funeral parlor to try to get himself embalmed so he stops rotting. :zombie
