Tuesday, written and illustrated by David Wiesner is a Caldecott Medal winner and when you see the amazingly detailed illustrations you can see why. With a total of nine words in the entire story, (days of the week and times are all the words say) this is a book to be studied and "read" completely through the illustrations. Follow frogs flying on lily pads through a town on a Tuesday as they create mayhem everywhere. Laugh when the law enforcement officers puzzle over what made all the messes during the night, then chuckle when you see shadows of flying pigs and then the pigs themselves flying through the air on the following Tuesday. A very different kind of nearly-wordless book.
