Hi BBs,

I'm looking for an old-fashioned pick up line that's sexy and tasteful - any suggestions? A few I've gotten are "you float my boat", "you're the cat's meow" and "cute as a button," but none are quite right.

Thanks :)

Well someone once told me (in days gone by): "I've admired you from afar for a very long time."  (It was definitely a line, but I loved it.)

All I could think of to go along with your examples was "You're the bees knees, baby."
What does that even mean?!

"If I said you had a nice body, would you hold it against me?"
Oh, wait, you said tasteful. I know that dates at least from the '40s, because my mom heard it when she was a teen. Are you looking for a particular era, or just something vaguely old-fashioned?

Boy: Did it hurt?
Girl: Did what hurt?
Boy: When you fell from heaven because you have the face of an angel.

^^ That one is used a lot though

Or  "The one thing your eyes haven't told me yet is your name."

Or " If beauty were time, you'd be eternity." <-- - I personally think that one's kind of cute

Those are the few I can think of right now. I'll let you know if I think of anymore.

A charming man once came up to me a party as asked, "Do you believe in astral projection?" (He ended up married to a "psychic.")

"Would you like to see my etchings?"

"Is that Chanel #5 you're wearing?"

"That's a great color on you.  It really makes your eyes stand out."

Is heaven missing an angel?

Did anyone ever tell you ___ (fill in the blank -- you have the most beautiful hair, eyes, etc.) ?

Did anyone ever tell you that you look like Jennifer Aniston/Cameron Diaz, etc. ?

Can I carry your books?

Thanks! These are hilarious. I'm looking for something preferably from a hundred years ago or earlier, American would be nice but British is fine too. :)

"Would you like to see my etchings?"

 :hahaha I remember that one!

The best one I ever heard was "So...what do you want for breakfast tomorrow?"

I know, not a hundred years ago or earlier. Maybe an action, like snatching up a dropped glove, lighting her cigarette, opening a door...?

old ones:
"So, do you come here often?"

"Haven't we met before?"

the oldest would be:
"Me, Tarzan. You Jane?"
