This morning I popped awake at 5:00, looked at the clock, and thought, "Wow, I slept in." Don't know whether to feel proud or appalled at myself.

Darshana, congrats on getting that PB revision done. That's such an awesome feeling.

Yay, Darshana! I've been up for two hours, nursing a shoulder/neck cramp, and just a few minutes ago figured out that it was caused by a slip on the ice last night. I didn't fall, but I had my computer bag on one shoulder and I must have pulled a muscle, and sitting in the middle of a long table at a SCBWI meet-up probably made things worse. It's a lot better today than it was yesterday so I think I'll be OK writing.

Late checking in, but raring to go. AnneB, watch that ice! :cold How well I remember taking little, tiny, baby steps sideways to go down to the mailbox in MN!  Salt and sand! Snowplows! Roof rakes!
Congrats on the revision, Darshana!  Melissa K -- be proud! :) Most would not think of 5 AM as "sleeping in"! ;)
Happy writing and stay warm, everyone!
Aloha,
Tori :palmtree :pizza

For the record, I used to be more of a ten a.m. kind of "morning person." When I felt appalled at myself yesterday, it wasn't because I thought five a.m. was late, but rather because I don't recognize this person I've become.

AnneB, sorry about your slip on the ice. I hate how little problems like that disrupt the writing schedule. Hope it gets better fast.

Darshana, everybody needs a rest day once in a while. I hope the revisions go great this weekend.

Tori, keep on keepin' on.

The baby got me up at 3:30 this morning, and I couldn't get back to sleep. I'm going to try to write and see how it goes.

Good morning, fellow-scribblers!
Melissa, I hope that baby went right back to sleep so you get some writing done!  :writing3
Let's all accomplish at least just one tiny tweak today and feel terrific about it (until we see it needs revision!  :slaphead)
With aloha,

Okay no writing today. Eeks. But I did take the kids to see Big Hero 6. God, I love Pixar storytelling skills. To be able to write like them ...  :cloud9 Though I did think this film was a tad darker than the previous ones. Also I am reading WE WERE LIARS and nearing the end. OMG!! That is all I am going to say. I am going to go read because I HAVE to finish this book now.

I will wake up bright and early tomorrow to do my revision. If I don't show up you are welcome to throw pies, tomatoes, or whatever suits you.

Happy Writing!

Tori--Yep, he went back to sleep, and I did get a fair amount of groggy writing done.

Darshana--Days off are necessary sometimes. Hope you enjoyed it!

No pies or tomatoes, Darshana! Glad everyone is perking along :coffee3 MVP, a FL vacation sounds great in the middle of winter!  I'm running out the door; we're babysitting the Adorables for tomorrow's holiday and we're off!
Happy writing, all!

Not an early riser today, nor will I be for much of the next week because of change in schedules around here (Older Son is in town for a consulting job and leaves early, Younger Son who still lives here has weird shifts also this week). I have managed some Quality Writing Time this week and can report progress on the scene that has taken me so long.

Best wishes, people: I'll check in with again when I can get up early w/o disturbing anyone else (or them disturbing me).

Thunderingelephants, writing in the afternoon would be lovely, if my boss and/or my children would just leave me alone at the computer for a while! Unfortunately, that's not going to be happening any time soon.  But I did have a decent writing session tonight. Off to bed, now. Good luck to the morning crew!

Good morning, Scribble Girl! Glad to hear you've been too busy writing to pop in. That's the best reason.

Thunderingelephants, I'm with MVP. I'd love an afternoon writing session, but it's not happening in my life any time soon.

Now on to the :typing

Welcome Scribble Girl and ThunderingElephants.
I have kids and work full-time so the only time I get to write is early morning, late nights and during my lunch hour.

I did finish my PB revision yesterday, so off it goes for critique. Now to catch on some other peoples critiques and start working on the next pb revision.

Happy Writing!

Hi, All -- and a warm welcome to those who've rejoined us! I missed this AM because I was doing a 1st grade school visit and now I'm trying to catch up after having been gone for three days with the Adorables. :bunny2

Happy writing, everyone, and may you accomplish your goals!

Good morning from sunny CA! With house guests for five days (but, they're fun!), the laptop will be a bit silent, and I'm envious of all my fellow-scribblers who get to keep on  :writing3 !
Have fun, everyone! I'm cheering you on!

I'm home sick!  :stars3 :love5 :stars3 Yes, those are the right emoticons. A day to myself, with long uninterrupted hours to work on my writing? Totally worth a sore throat. I'm hoping to make real progress today.

Hope you all have a productive writing day! With or without the help of germs.

Good Morning! Yes I was up at 5am. Ironically, so were both my girls. I guess this means I will see pigs flying soon. Just working on revisions again.

MVP - hope your sore throat is getting a bit better, but not enough to go to work. :-)

Happy Friday!

Tori, it sounds like you got to sneak in some writing time. Hooray!

Darshana, sorry you had early rising kiddos this morning. Hope you got to sneak some work in anyway.

I missed writing this morning. The baby has a cold, and there was a very congested awake period in the middle of the night. After that my pillow was much more tempting than my laptop. But it's my day off from paid work, so I'm going to try to get a naptime writing session in this afternoon.

I'm here this morning, but later than I wanted to be. We seem to be in a bit of a sleep regression around here. I'm bummed about it and trying not to be bummed about it.

Hope you all are writing well or resting well!
